We arrived very early in the glorious sunshine. John and I had organised this meet, spending many hours, days,  building jumps with Darren and checking on where to go with the lines. Most of the jumps were built for me! the height I like to jump! with the odd hedge for Robin and the "boys".

It was so wonderful to see so many horses and riders arrive.  We met in the courtyard and enjoyed toasting each other with port or orange squash.  Port always tastes delicious on horseback. We had to wait slightly longer before starting as Darren our jump builder, gate opener, and general Mr Fixer on Sunday got stuck in the mud out on one of the lines. It was left to the trusty gamekeeper Shaun to tow him out. Thank you.

What a brilliant sight we all made walking through the gate to the park for our first line. The going was amazing. We went up and down hills, along the stream up towards Bradfield College where we jumped some lovely logs and rails. All in the bright sunshine. I had to take my jumper off after the first line it was just so lovely to have the sun.

Onto the second line, crossing the stream. This line started with a number of jumps ending with the ski jump and to the right of it a slightly smaller jump. At the end of the line there were a number of riders panting.

The third line had a few hedges. one notable one being the holly hedge. John had spent ages with his chain saw attacking this hedge and it did look great. (Unfortunately I did have a stop at it) then after twisting and turning we arrived back to the ski jump and then on up the hill for the last line.

The last line had our hurdles and some smaller jumps to the side of them. A short line before we then hacked back through the farm and back to the lorries going through the estate, infront of the house and once again thoroughly enjoying the spectacular view. Robin did us all proud by cheerfully sounding his hunting horn.

To finish the meet we then had sausages and tea and cakes back at the lorry park. A happy time had by all.

What a fabulous day and a big thank you to the Benyon family for letting us enjoy their estate.
