Directions for MEET 26th March 2006 ONLY

Because it is so late and they have thousands of new born lambs out we are going to go round the sponsored ride course which is about 10 miles around Manor Farm.  
The route will take us onto the highest point of the estate with some great views. 
Jumping will be very easy but should include a few event fences.

 

Directions are therefore completely different.

Leave the A34 at the Tothill junction (Southern end of the Newbury bypass).

Follow signs to Highclere castle. 

Go past the entrance to the castle. then take the left hand turning marked Old Burghclere it is fairly close to where the road rejoins the A34

We will be parking in a field about 1/2 mile along this road and Manor Farm is a bit further along on the right.
DO NOT GO INTO THE CASTLE GROUNDS

 

Normal meet directions

 

Take the A34 south from the M4, at southern end of bypass follow brown signs to Highclere Castle (NOT Highclere), almost immediately after turning right at T junction turn right to  cross the A34 over the bridge, turn left to go through the stone gateway into the park, carry on to the folly and park on the left.

The setting for our opening and closing meets. This is a very attractive park. We meet by the Temple and the lines take us around the castle. The fences are all straightforward and suitable for novices.
