Hambledon Situated between Henley-on-Thames
and Marlow off the A4155. In Mill End, turn north to Hambleden and shortly after
turn right up a narrow lane. This climbs a steep hill. Take the next turning
right and the parking is either in the field on this corner or, if wet, along
this lane. This is a generously hosted lawn
meet with three lines. Almost entirely over old pasture, each line has hill
work including the one you drive up to reach the meet. There are some
interesting drop fences and a couple of hedges, one of which is probably our
widest holly hedge and provides great spectator appeal, located close to our
host's house at the end of the third line. The going is always excellent here
and there is the added attraction of two river crossings. Tea is usually at Ye Olde Dog & Badger
pub on the main road in Medmenham. |
